Halloween

I know, I was supposed to take more pictures but we were all going crazy by the time we got to the point of taking pictures. It looks like Cannon is crying but he is actually screaming, "CANDY!" Cannon is a bat, Ridge is a Power Ranger and Laine* was Gretle, wearing the dirndle that was mine when I was tiny. I took the kids to a few of the neighbors before Eric got home from work. We tried to wait for him but they were so anxious we got ready so early and Cannon's ears shut down so he couldn't obey any requests so we had to just get out and get candy. Eric found us coming back down the street and Laine ran to him and said, "I bat!" and "booful lights" because Cannon had been saying for the video camera that he was a bat and that was what she picked up and we had just been to a house where the steps were lined with orange lights and they even had a smoke machine. We went to a few more houses all together, Cannon fell smack on his belly three times, it was a little wet but not that much. Then I went to orchestra and Eric took the kids to the ward trunk-or-treat where they made a proper candy killing.

I got Laine dressed then sat down on the floor with her on my lap to put her shoes on her. I got both shoes on her feet then she bucked her head back and smashed it against my cheek so hard I thought my face split open -- so I said under my breath, "crap Laine" but not under enough for her not to hear so then she happily ran out of my lap and around her room saying, "crap Laine. Crap, crap." Luckily my little sponge girl hasn't said it since.
