3!
How fun to celebrate a 3-year-old's birthday. Sommer was so patient, waiting for the time when she could open her presents. She put the gifts that arrived early from Grandma B on the dining room shelf and waited for us to tell her the day when she could open them. Then gifts from the family came out when dad called to say he was home from work. She had to wait for him to get through bad traffic so it took even longer.
My favorite part of the day was buying cupcakes with her. I was going to make some but there was so much going on that it didn't work out so we chose some at the store. At the checkout we were looking at the balloons and I let her choose one. The wonder and happiness in her little face was so priceless, so sweet.
Sommer likes to play board games, do puzzles, play sister-and-sister with Laine, make "stuve" (aka: dirt stew) by herself or with Laine, be buddies with Cannon, make stuffed animal mountains with Ridge, watch Dora, wear dresses or skirts, wear her new footie jammies even though it is summertime, drink warm pink milk, and read stories
Happy Birthday darling girl!

I can't believe Sommer is three already. She sure is cute. Glad Sommer had a great birthday.
Happy Birthday, Sommer! And what is this warm pink milk? That sounds like a very cheerful beverage!
What a sweet sweet little lady. So glad she had a wonderful day!
Sommer is such a doll. I want one just like her. I hope your 20+ hour drive went smoothly. It was great seeing you guys this week!
