This is about the happiest moment of our Valentine dinner. I prepared a new chicken recipe that was delicious but it had asparagus in it. I gave Ridge less than an inch of asparagus and you would think I was making him eat a garden of it the way he carried on. He had a choice of eating a different vegatable from the dinner and decided to try red pepper (this was a slow cooker meal so everything was on the soft side) but he couldn't get that down. He ate quietly for a while because Cannon asked Eric to tell the story of Batman and the Penguin. How romantic. So Eric narrated the tale while feeding Cannon (who ate an entire piece of asparagus willingly) then Ridge started to complain, and then cry about his food. I finally said it was okay, he didn't have to eat it but that meant no special dessert for him, no more food until the morning. He had to go to his room because he couldn't stop crying about the food. After the dishes were done I talked with him again. He decided he would try one more time. He went back to asparagus instead of the red pepper and finally got it down then ate the rest of his chicken and pasta, it was really good. I tried to make Chocolate Lava cakes for dessert but they didn't lava for me. I think I put in too much powdered sugar. But they were still delicious and moist in the center, no complaints from anyone. Eric bought me beautiful pink roses, that was a lovely surprise.

That's great to do, Paige. It's important for the kids (and their dad!)to see the things that are meaningful to you. You're doing just great!
