Ridge always has Legos on his mind. Every morning he bumps his Lego box down the stairs and then starts rumaging through the box to make the creation of the day. He and his friend Chastin bring their lego vehicles to school and play with them at recess. The first thing Ridge does when he walks in the door after school is sit down and start building something new. It amazes me at how creative he is, how his brain works. He is getting really good at making vehicles/aircraft out of the pieces that he has from pictures that he sees. He doesn't have to have the exact Lego pieces, he makes it work. And he is great at figuring out new creations to make. I'm not sure what this is improving in his brain but I know he is learning, he just has to think so much to get these things together. So even though the sound of Legos shifting around at 7am can be grating, I let him play, my little Lego master.
Ridge had two sick days this week. He was very content to build/cough/build all the day through. Here he is surrounded by his Legos and Kinex, because it isn't enough to have just one building set spread all over the floor.

Yesterday I was running late,(children to get to school all over town) and as Chastin and I headed out the door he was dumping his back pack out...I was worried we would miss the bus, so I'm pushing him along to hurry.I finally tell him WE HAVE TO GO! He looks at me and says " I have to bring some new Legos to school today." I'm looking at him with tears forming in his eyes, for some reason this is very important to him. So I ask him why, he says "Ridge was disapointed that I didn't bring a Lego to school the other day and then I forgot the next day so I NEED to bring one today! Please??" so I told him to hurry up and that I was proud of him for thinking of his friends feelings:) I'm glad that they are such good buds and have something in common, it makes me feel better knowing that he has Ridge to play with at recess. Thanks for the post Paige!
I need Ridge to come over to my house to play legos with my kids. They love legos, but I think Ridge is a lego expert!
