Sometimes Laine has naptime and sometimes she decides she doesn't want a nap so she slides down the slide and keeps busy in her room for 2 hours. Since she is so happy in there I don't try to put her back in bed, she sleeps on the days she needs it. On Monday I think she slept for a bit, but I could be wrong because she told me that she didn't want to take a nap. I told her to read her books and play with her friends (her stuffed animals). When I went into her room a few hours later I found her dressed up in her swimsuit and hat. We don't really play dress-up in our house, we play cars and trains and Legos. Cannon sometimes gets a pillowcase cape so he can be a super hero but that is the extent of it. So Laine has started to play dress-up on her own. She has taken a fancy to trying on shoes of anyone in the family and taking her own shoes on and off. She is a girl and though she watches me, she plays with the boys and learns a lot from them. Since they didn't teach her dress-up and I didn't, I suppose it was just her nature as a girl. When she plays cars she will drive them around but often there is a mommy car and a baby car, again, not something the boys taught her. I love my sweet Girl! And to think I was so worried that I didn't know what to do with a girl when I was pregnant.

Isn't it great how boys are boys and girls are girls. I have thought the same thing about Afton...I never remembered showing her how to put the baby to bed, etc, but she just started doing it on her own.
It is amazing how they just come out that way. I almost cringe when I walk into Courtney's room--it is so PINK! But, that is just the way she likes it!
that's how i felt having a boy after two girls!
it's so great to experience both...
