The Good Husband

So, as I mentioned earlier, I was sick with this cough during our vacation in Utah. It was mostly gone and I thought I was better because I finally slept lying down instead of sitting up in bed -- which I had done for a couple of weeks. But I still had more in me. It was around 3am and I started coughing again but was in that state of being too exhausted to actually get up and do something about it. Which wasn't very nice of me because I woke up Eric with my hacking. But instead telling me to get a cough drop and rolling over with a pillow on his head, he sat up and said, "what can I do to help?" So then I woke up from my half-asleep state, propped myself up on another pillow, got the cough drop in my mouth and Eric went and made me a cup of chammomile tea. Then he took his pillow to the couch. But that was my last coughing fit of that night. Friday it happened again and I slept poorly which put me in a poor mood on Saturday. After lunch, Eric took the kids on a a walk, in the snow and ice, and let me stay home to rest. How much better I felt after that! He took the wagon and attached the sled to the back of it then pulled the kids to the park and then to the high school to a good sledding hill. At least a 2 mile walk. They were gone for 3 hours! I almost felt worried but convinced myself to just relax and let the good Dad, the wonderful husband, take care of things, and he did.
