Sunday Best

Today was the primary program at church. Ridge read his 1-minute talk all by himself and did a great job. After he was done a kind friend in the ward turned around and said, "what a good reader." Eric teaches CTR 8 so he was up on the stand as well. He looked really tall next to the microphone that was set for all the little kids, but he did a great job too. I was asked to be the 2nd counselor in the Primary, starting after the program today of course, and today when I was sustained Laine was throwing a fit on my lap. That means that come January, 4 out of 5 of us will be in the primary together. We are a happy fam-i-ly. I'm looking forward to the new calling, I haven't had a chance to work in primary yet. I've been serving in the nursery and in the *Relief Society as a teacher on the 4th Sundays.

It seemed like every time it was my turn to teach Cannon would have an especially hard day. Last time he had a huge meltdown when I tried to leave the nursery to go teach so I brought him with me to the bathroom where he calmed down a bit but then got upset again. So we walked over to the RS room to show him that my class was very boring and having lesson and snack in nursery would be more fun. He didn't buy it at first until a well-meaning lady in the ward said she would sit and read books with him on the couch. He didn't know this lady so when he heard his options he decided that nursery was better but he still whined almost all the way back to the room. He stopped crying right before the nursery door to comment to me, "that is a fat lady." I don't think she heard. So I always went into RS feeling so flustered and crazy, and kind of like an intruder that came to see them once a month, but the kind ladies in the ward always helped me to feel the spirit and their comments were always so thoughtful that the lessons went okay despite my state of being.

love the "fat lady" comment. Is Eric getting released? Who's the 5th person not in primary? What a fun and perfect calling for you. I'm excited for the adventures you'll have in primary.

awesome kids. laine is so pretty. ca-nOn cracks me up just looking at him. and ridge has confidence in his looks and you can tell he knows it by that face he has in the second picture. just cool confidence. stellar.

I wondered who was the 5th person not in Primary, too? And I also wondered what you bribed them all with to get that perfect second picture after the typical first one?! They sure are perfect grandkids!

4 out of 5 -- Cannon will be in sunbeams, Ridge still in primary, Eric teaching, I am in the presidency and Laine is the 5th not in primary because she is in nursery and since serving in there I know that it is like a world by itself.
