4-day weekend

Tomorrow is the 4th day of Ridge's 4-day weekend. He enjoys school a lot more than when he started but he was so excited to have these days off. On Friday we spent the morning at the park that has the skateboard run which is usually dominated by the big kids but this time it was the little kids place. One of his friends was there and they had both rode their bikes all around the park and through the skateboard run. He had so much fun being with the other kids. And he was confident enough to go off on his own with them -- he wouldn't have done that a year ago. At home in the afternoon Ridge and Cannon played the day away. They disappeared upstairs for a while then went outside with their backpacks full of rescue stuff. It seems that being away at school has made Ridge appreciate his brother's friendship, he is more willing to play along with what Cannon suggests, and he enjoys even more the time he has to play since free time at school is "so short." Most mornings before school this month he has brought his KNex blocks downstairs and he builds with them until he has to get on the bus. Then he comes home and plays with them for hours.
