Late Thanksgiving Report

My parents and brother, Kent, came to visit us for Thanksgiving. We tried to find some new Seattle things to do this round. The above picture was taken at the Crab Pot restaurant. It turns out that there is also one of these in Long Beach, CA where both my parents were raised but we went anyway. We ordered a meal that they steam up and then dump on your table. It contained clams, muscles, crab, shrimp, corn on the cob and sausage. It was fun, surprisingly yummy and the eating adventure we had hoped for. Right after we sat down at the table, Laine turned pale and got really lethargic. I'm not sure what was wrong with her. We were afraid she was going to vomit all over but she didn't, she was really ornery and ruined our adventure to Pikes market after lunch. I don't think I've ever eaten so much over a vacation. We had a lot of good food the whole time, not just on Thanksgiving day. Even though we had just eaten lunch we still got some of those yummy little donuts from Pikes.
We took a ferry to a Christmas tree farm on Friday. We usually get our tree the day after Thanksgiving but not across the water. It was another fun adventure together.

And as usual, it was beautiful weather for the visitors.
Kent had the honor of being favorite and best uncle for a few days. We all loved having him around. He was great at playing with everyone. Here he is being nearly strangled by Cannon. My dad and Laine are in the background. This was a really lovely Christmas tree farm, especially on a gorgeous day like this turned out to be.
It was so delightful to have company for Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful time.
The following is Eric's summation of our Christmas tree outing:
We went and got our Christmas tree on Friday and it turned out to be the most expensive tree ever. It was crazy. We decided to ride the ferry to the peninsula to get a tree. We had to take two cars to fit everyone and both cars needed gas. We tanked up for a total of $135. Then we had to pay for the ferry ride over and back. Total $77.10. While we were waiting for the ferry everyone needed hot chocolate. Total $19.22. Then we hiked around the tree farm for a while until we found the perfect tree. We cut it down and hauled it back to the shack to pay. Total $54. I had to borrow $45 dollars from your Dad to pay for it because they only took cash. Finally we had lunch at McDonalds on the way home. Total $33.37. Total price of our Christmas tree? $318.69 (or about $39.84 per foot). Hiking around a tree farm in the middle of nowhere with 4 crazy kids? Priceless.
Isn't he a funny guy? Thanks for the priceless tree, E. The kids had so much fun running around and playing hide-and-seek with Eric and Kent that I think it really will be a priceless memory to them someday.

What an adventure! Nothing beats a fresh Christmas tree and the amazing smell they fill the house with. I say it's worth the money.
Glad to hear you had a nice Thanksgiving with your family.

That's a great adventure and story of your Thanksgiving and tree excursion. Makes me think we might have to ditch our fake tree when Noey gets older. He'll need a story like this to tell!

What an awesome day. I know it was expensive, but the experience is what everyone will remember. Ryan won't let us have a real tree so I'm jealous.
