4 Stitches

Last night the boys were doing one of their running games in the house. They start at the door to Laine's room and run through the dining room to the living room where they crash onto an upturned cushion on the couch. They have a name for the game but I'm sure they won't play it anymore. Ridge must have run really hard because he propelled himself into the windowsill and split his head open. Thankfully, I wasn't home alone. Eric had arrived home from work just 10 minutes earlier. We worried a few friends by calling them and asking for an urgent care unit recommendation but ended up at the emergency room anyway. Eric predicted that it would take 3 hours and he was right. 1 hour in the waiting room, 1 hour in their hospital room waiting for the doctor and 1 hour to actually get the stitches process complete. Ridge wasn't brave at home when we were telling him that he would need stitches but he was really brave at the hospital, didn't cry a bit there. Eric and Ridge got home around 10:30pm.

Ridge is doing fine, we let him stay home today. His head is tender and he doesn't like showing people or hearing me tell people about his accident. In this picture he is covering up his injury because he didn't want me to take a picture of it. Hopefully this is the last time he has to get stitches. (knock on wood)

You are always so sweet to comment on my blogs. .. I appreciate it! Don't stitches and boys go hand in hand? Take care!

We are glad to see that he is back to his normal self again!

Wow, Paige--I'll bet that wasn't much fun for any of you. If it's any consolation, tell Ridge that Uncle Todd has 21 different stitches in three different places on his head--and one more place right in front on his forehead that really should have had stitches but his mom didn't bother to take him in!
