bummer summer

First official day of summer break we went to the dr's office bright and early to get Ridge's cast. On his left arm. (He's a lefty.) He wasn't happy about it, moped around, tried not to feel sorry for himself but did. The waterproof cast cover I bought from the pharmacy says "not for recreational water activities" so he decided not to go to Cherry Hill with us. By the end of the day he was grumpy. Very grumpy.
Eric gave him a pep talk/lecture and soon after he was out mowing the lawn and stayed out late playing games and riding bikes with the neighborhood kids. We ordered a different kind of cast cover so he can swim with us and go on the waterslides in a few days. He'll be alright. 5 weeks and he'll be as good as new.

Poor Ridge! Sounds like Eric's pep talk did the trick in changing his mood.

There is never a good time to break an arm, but summer is the worst! I hope the new cover works better.
