The Baby Brother Graduates

Lance, my "baby" brother, graduated from BYU Idaho! My parents made the drive from California, through Utah to the freezing cold city of Rexburg, Idaho and they picked me up on the way. I was so glad to be able to attend. Lance had to go to every single one of my events all through his growing up years and I've missed out of most of his. Lance is such delightful company. It is always a pleasure to be around him. When we were waiting for the ceremony to start, Lance's voice played over the loudspeaker, welcoming us to the venue. That was a cool moment. He majored in sound technology, or something like that, so his voice has been recorded for different things around campus as he worked. He's going to do great in life.

And now I'd like to pay a little tribute to my amazing parents. In 1993 I graduated from high school and started college. Nineteen years later Lance graduated from college. In between, all of my other siblings have gone to college and graduated. Two went on to get law degrees and one has his Masters.
I'd like to go back further than that though because the journey starts with kindergarten, which I started in 1980. That's 32 years that my parents have been helping their children succeed in school. They helped all of us with countless reports, spelling tests, math homework, along with supporting all of our after school activities. They are remarkable examples of parenting.

Thanks Mom and Dad. For everything.

What a great tribute, Paige. Your mom and dad must be so proud of all of you. Thank you for sharing this--I'm glad you were able to be there with Lance.

Thank you, Paige. Raising all of you was a joy, and now, to quote Jacob from the Book of Mormon, it seems as if it "were a dream". No matter what we do in this life, our family will always be our crowning moment.
