12 Days of Christmas

Lucky us! We were the recipients of 12 Days of Christmas gifts. It was so fun, delightful and exciting to receive thoughtful gifts everyday for 12 days. And right before Christmas too! It was inspiring to me and made everyone feel special.
Day 1: Partridge in a Pear Tree -- a beautiful ornament decorated the basket of pears, one of them golden. I have that golden pear on our entry table now to remind me of this kind service and to remind me to serve and be thoughtful.

Day 2: Two Turtle Doves -- a package of chocolate turtles. I thought I'd get to eat most of them by myself but the kids discovered that they liked them too.

Day 3: Three French Hens -- Frozen green beans, frozen French fries, frozen Chicken tenders. An easy meal for a hectic night.

Day 4: Four Calling Birds -- Four little bird figurines that look like they're caroling.

Day 5: Five Golden Rings -- An knock on the door a 7:45am delivering five donuts, including a Texas donut big enough to feed an army.

Day 6: Six Geese a-Laying -- Another early knock delivering a dozen organic eggs, new wisk, pretty ornament and a Christmas tea towel with the letter B on it.
Day 7: Seven Swans a-Swimming -- A pretty, glass swan ornament with seven passes to a swimming pool nearby clipped to the bottom.

Day 8: Eight Maids a-Milking -- Another early knock delivering eight different kinds of milk.
Day 9: Nine Ladies Dancing -- a DVD of Barbie and the 12 Dancing Princesses along with boxes of movie candy.
Day 10: Ten Lords a-Leaping -- New socks for all of us!
Day 11: Eleven Pipers Piping -- Two new Christmas music CDs.
Day 12: Twelve Drummers Drumming -- A big "Merry Christmas" ornament decorated a drum-shaped basket filled with Drumstick ice creams.

The givers kept their identities anonymous. I'm guessing it was a neighbor but we have no idea who. We're very grateful and now we want to plan our own 12 days of giving. That's the key though, planning, like in September.

I recognize those donuts, from...oh...crud. I can't remember the name of the grocery store anymore. It's up there on Main Street in Kaysville with the Arctic Circle right next to it. We got those one year for a birthday cake...two of them with frosting in the middle (I put it together, they didn't, though I'm sure they would if you asked.)
So glad you're enjoying our old stomping ground, and so sorry we missed living in the same area for a while. :(
