New Year, New Job

Guess who got a job in Utah? That's right, the long commute from Seattle is over after next week. Eric starts a new job with Pride Restoration on January 9th, and then starts a long commute here, one hour each way from Cedar Hills to Farmington, but we'll take it over the other option.

It is all about who you know. In this case, my mom heard that my cousin was hiring. We didn't even know that he owned a construction company. I love this cousin but I don't communicate with him or his siblings like, ever. So Eric called him and they talked, arranged an interview. The day after they talked on the phone my cousin called up and said, "I just need to clarify, you're my cousin Paige's husband, right?" We haven't seen him since our wedding. Anyway, after a successful interview and negotations, Eric took a job with them.

This is a huge change Eric is making in his life. It was huge to leave us here in Utah and continue to work in Seattle but this is bigger in a way. Eric has been with Charter Construction for over 10 years now. It was his first job out of college and he's worked his way up through the company.I think he'll be hard to replace. He's leaving behind a huge part of his identity so this is a big leap for him. He's excited about his new opportunity though. He hopes to help be an integral part of helping Pride grow.
And we're all so happy that he can be an integral part of our family again.
