Experiment

This is Jojo. We're fostering him for a few days to see if he is a good fit for our family. He is part cattle dog, part border collie. He has the greatest temperment, never barks and isn't excitable when all the kids are yelling and running. And Laine, who has been fearful of dogs forever, loves this mutt already.

He's supposed to be house trained but today while I was changing Massi's diaper he came in the room and peed on Ridge's bookshelf, ruining a couple of books and magazines and yearbooks. When I saw what he was doing I. Freaked. Out. Scaring Massi in the process. Everyone else was gone getting the dog cable for the yard (and birthday shopping for me but I wasn't supposed to know). I more than a little lost it and cried and cried. Not in the house. Not in my baby's room. Eric and Cannon cleaned up the mess and got the cable strung across the yard since we don't have a completely fenced area.

So it is still an experiment. I'll let you know...

paige,

You are amazing!!!!! I can begin to even have an "experiment" with any animals in the house with small kiddos. In the back of my head, I really wanna dog, but I really don't think I can handle anymore poop...

But I am amazed, as always, that you have so much love to give. I hope your experiment goes well!

Good luck with the experiment. I can imagine it would be difficult to not keep him once the kids have all fallen in love. Especially if it was a big step for Laine. I hope he turns out to be a good fit for the family. (And he quickly learns to pee outside.)

Way to go Paige, you are such an amazing person. If anyone can make this work, I know you can. Good luck, he is a really cute dog. .

Oh Paige... you are a brave soul. We tried the dog "experiment"... of course, the kids were hooked immediately. Thankfully - oops, I mean unfortunately - we couldn't take the dog when we moved, so it now lives with my parents. I totally get your stress about cleaning up doggy messes! Hopefully, your mutt will settle in and everyone (especially you!) can enjoy having him around.
