Pink Room, Blue Room

Right before school started, and during that first week, the kids all switched rooms. Ridge moved downstairs, the girls moved up to Cannon's room and Cannon moved to Ridge's room. I let Ridge and the girls choose their paint colors. Ridge's original choice was darker in color and I had him move it up one on the color chart. I used fabric shower curtains for the curtains since I couldn't find any in my price range that I liked. I do like the nautical feel the room has though it is darker than the "lettuce alone" green that was on the walls for so many years. Overall it looks great though and he took a lot of ownership in painting and making the room his. He will have to share with Massimo, though not during the night at first. The crib will be in his room and we'll put the pack and play in our room for the night time.

Of course the girls chose pink. We chose paint and Home Depot and they have the Disney colors so this really is "princess pink." It is hard to tell in the photo but the ceiling is still white. I was more hesitant to paint the walls pink than the turquoise in Ridge's room, but now it is my favorite room in the house. The pink is so warm and cozy their room just feels happy all the time. We found the beds on Craig's List. I finally got curtains put up this week, after 2 months, made out of sheets. Of course now I can't find the hardware for curtain rod for this little window.

Cannon wanted to paint too but I told him we were going to leave his the khaki color. Poor middle child. But a pregnant mom can only do so much. I did get him a cool white board at least...

Love the blue color for Ridge's room and your new curtains. I can totally see a designer on a budget using a shower curtain. It's a great idea!

Love the beds from Craigslist too. The built-in storage is a huge plus.

What great looking rooms! Good job! They each have their own character. Those kid beds are so cute. How great that you found those.

I love the shower curtain turned into curtains idea. I wouldn't have even guessed that they were made out of those. You are one creative person.

Have you officially chosen the name Massimo? If so, that will be a great name for the baby.

Both rooms turned out great. I especially like the girls bedroom. The beds are adorable and work really well in that space.
I am sure it was a lot of work but I bet the kids love it.

Paige, where do you find your energy? The kids rooms look so cozy - I love the idea of using shower curtains!

Looks great! You do have way more motivation than I do...I painted Paul's wall blue after talking to you about your painting. I actually bought the girls a pink, but wasn't sure how I felt about it, so its just the same. Oh well.

Those are HUGE projects- way to go! I love how they both turned out. I have about 6 gallons of paint waiting for me - do you hire out? :) Maybe I will start to tape first :).
