Favorite Project (of late)

Last year I found this gorgeous wreath idea on a blog called Living with Lindsay. I made a few of them and gave them away as gifts and they were a hit. They are easy to make but it does take a few hours of sitting with a glue gun and an old book. On the blog Lindsay says to buy a dollar store trash novel. I went to the thrift store instead and found old books that looked weathered. I also tried to find books that I liked or that would be fun to look at up close and scrunched. The first one I used a Shakespeare, Merchant of Venice I think and the second one I used Pride and Prejudice. Kind of a crime to rip the books up but at least they got a second life. The third one I made was just old, I can't even remember the title, but it had green edges and I wanted to see the effect. I couldn't really tell a difference.

Just wanted to share.

My Mom made one for my Grandma out of her old Handel's Messiah score. It was old and she hadn't used it in years, but couldn't bear to get rid of it, so my Mom thought this would be a good way to recycle it.

Very cute! They are doing these at Super Saturday and I can't wait to see how they are done. Are they hard to store?

I was one of the recipients last year and I love it! It is hanging on my red painted wall and looks beautiful. Thank you Paige...I think of you every time I see those pages.

I love the one you made for mom. You have inspired me to make one for myself!

I stored one in a closet for a few months Sally but I haven't tried a box. It was hard to ship.

They take a few hours to make the the results are so pleasing.
