Mothers Day 2010

Eric and the kids always try hard to make Mothers Day special for me. It began with breakfast in bed, no picture of that but it was yummy. Cinnamon rolls, strawberries, bacon and eggs. The kids like this part because they get to eat on the bed too though we all use cookie sheets and spread out a sacrificial blanket over our bedding. Ridge's class made rice/lavender microwavable pillows. Cannon painted a flowerpot and filled it with a little bouquet. Laine gave me her present on Friday when her class had a special party just for the moms. Eric gets me a new plant every year. This year, another Clematis vine and a trellis for it to climb.

Eric's morning meetings were canceled so he got to help me with the getting-ready part of Sunday mornings. That was a nice change. He didn't have meetings after church either and came home, did the dishes and then made a fabulous lunch of bbq ribs, pasta salad, tomato-mozzarella slices, and asparagus. He also made a green salad, Ridge helped with all the vegetable chopping, but no one had room to eat it so we have that for later. It was lovely enough to eat outside in the sunshine. Then Eric did all the dishes.

I'm a lucky mom and a lucky wife to have this sweet family.

some after church bouncing after the Mothers day photo session.

Laine took my order for my ice cream sundae at the class party.

Such a beautiful sunny day.

What a crew. Family photo on the trampoline.

I am glad that you had a great mother's day. It's nice when people do something nice and special for you.

I had a good mother's day too. It was the first mother's day where I actually got something from my dad. He bought a couple little books called, "Giver of Life" "Lessons from Eve," for my mom and I. I will have to read it sometime.
