35

What a lovely birthday. How loved I felt by the time it was over so I'll document so I can go back and remember when I'm feeling blue. I got to spread out the celebrating over a few days since Eric left town over the weekend. I saved gifts sent from family to open on my birthday, went to dinner with friends who paid for my dinner and gave me some lovely things on Saturday night, bought myself some shoes at the Rack on Friday, took the kids to see Shrek 4 on Saturday -- they thought that would be a great way to celebrate mom's birthday while dad was gone, and was the recipient of the most delicious cupcakes ever. Salted Caramel Cupcakes baked by Kathy. I'll have to post the recipe because they are scrumptious.

The party started on Wednesday night when Eric took us all out to eat at Bucca's. I hardly ate any of my pasta because I was serious about finishing my mozzarella caprese on my own. I think I shared one bite of cheese with Eric.
Loveliness and yumminess all around.

I'm so annoyed. I kept checking Facebook so I wouldn't miss it and then I did! Yaarrgh.

Anyway, happy birthday beautiful friend! It sounds like it was so fun. I love birthdays spread out over multiple days--they're the best! (I wouldn't have shared either.) :)

That is my most favorite salad ever, Paige. I practically live on that stuff during the summer. I don't know if this was in your mission, but we used to make a dish called pasta italia, with all the ingredients for the caprese salad, but with pasta and more of a vinigrette, rather than a drizzle of olive oil and vinager. If you want to try it, shell pasta works the best. Oh my, it's yummy. I'm glad your b-day was fun...it's a day for a birthday all around, lol.
