Travels in a motor home

The kids were so excited about their weekend in the motor home. It really was a great way to travel. When they first met up with me to hand off my shoes they couldn't stop talking about all the great things about the RV, they had so much to show me and I had no time to appreciate it! But I got the tour later since the newness of the vehicle didn't wear off during our stay in it. The older 3 slept in the loft that they are pictured in -- they loved it!

When I was packing up I was thinking "beach camping" and the beaches in California were in my head. I completely forgot that the beaches in our state are not like the ones down south. I packed wrong for everyone, I even packed my swimsuit thinking that it would be so lovely to take nap in the warm sunshine. What was I thinking? I obviously wasn't. I didn't even get a sweatshirt in Cannon's bag. But they are used to the cold weather and being at the real beach, even though it was cold and sooo windy, was a novelty so they were excited to jump the bigger waves and play in the sand pits that Eric dug.

Chad and Angie came too! That made it even more fun to have more family around. I think we exhausted them. (I didn't get a cute picture of both of them though, sorry.) On Saturday night everyone but Sommer and I went down to the beach to make s'mores. It was still really windy so they made the fire in their sand pit from earlier and then ate the s'mores in the van, there is still sand on the floor to prove it. I earned an early ticket to bed. Sommer ate lots of sand, again.
And here's the man of the hour. Eric even planned and packed up all the food and when I asked how I could help with the meals he told me to just sit. Even though it was cold it was lovely to have this little vacation together. I'm sure this won't be the last time travel this way though maybe next time we'll head in a different direction. When I was in high school my parents rented an RV and we drove up the coast to this place where I'm living now. It is still on my list of favorite family vacations.

Wow Paige! What incredible memories you are giving to your family. It will all be worth it when you hear them talking about it all in years to come--you'll find out about things you never knew! What a terrific husband you have! Love you!

I used to love that lofty place up there too- didn't fight hard enough to get it most of the time tho since there were too many of us..someone else always called dibs before I did.
I guess I have truly become a Washingtonian because when I pack for the beach here- I pack soup, sweatshirts, wool socks and a Raincoats! Poor summergirl Paige..I'd go south if I were you too :)
Sommer looks so darling in her cute sweatshirt!
