Snow and Sonics

This is what Friday looked like around here. Can you believe it? Snow at the end of March. It turned from rain to snow as we were at the bus stop and I thought there was no way it was cold enough to snow all day, no way it would stay on the ground. But it did. I think we planted our garden too soon. Maybe next year. The kids were excited to get their snow gear out again. Ridge had a half day so there was plenty of time to play in the snow that had accumulated while he was at school.
Eric was given 4 Sonics tickets for Friday night. Chad and Angie agreed to babysit the girls and we were able to take the boys to the game. They were so excited to go, bouncing off the walls, hardly able to eat their dinner. Ridge stayed up late the night before, making signs to hold up. When we finally got to our seats the boys seemed to deflate. They sat so quietly and looked so tired and subdued, Eric and I got confused, kept looking at each other over their heads. They were just taking it all in and finally resting. They were both pretty amazed at Squatch, who came down from the ceiling holding flares right before the Sonics were introduced. Ridge had been telling Cannon that Squatch was the real big foot and I think Cannon was a bit worried until he saw the actual mascot. Eric took the boys to get snacks -- and giant fingers -- during the end of the 1st quarter and after eating they were full of energy again. Ridge was dancing right along with the Boom Squad. We had a great night.

That same snow storm came to our house early Sunday morning--4 inches or so and freezing cold! We don't even have the flowers to poke through yet either. The boys look like life is good to them--no soap in the mouths this time! How fun....

Fun! Not the snow part--the game part. I love "wholesome recreational activities."

This is awesome you guys! It makes me excited to take my kids to sporting events.
You should send this post to the SuperSonics management and the NBA as one good reason NOT to move the team out of Seattle. At least the boys got to see the team before it departs...
