7 Months (and a story)

Sommer has had a busy month. She went from falling on her face and head a lot to sitting perfectly to nearly crawling. That's right, little girl is already creeping all around, working on that pincher grip so she can find the minuscule choking hazards to put in her mouth. Just this past week she has figured out how to get to a sitting position on her own, that is making her very happy with herself. And she has 2 teeth! Those grew in this month as well. She has gotten very wiggly with her new found discovery of movement, but she will sit still when she is tired.

I bought this snug tub deluxe for Laine and I have loved having it. It is the perfect tub for when babies are too big for the infant tub and too small and slippery for the regular bath. The kids love it too. Laine now prefers to take a bath in this little thing rather than the regular tub. And Ridge has discovered that it floats like a boat. Last night he wanted to take a bath by himself so he could have more space to float but when Laine came into the bathroom wanting to join him, he agreed. I had Sommer in my arms and so Ridge said that he would help Laine with her clothes. She can undress pretty well but is faster with help. Laine neglected to tell us that she had messed her panties (her potty-training #2 is an entire blog episode by itself but it makes me too tired to try to write about it). Ridge is my hyper-gag, easy to dry-heave and vomit child who has been doing better at controlling this but just couldn't keep it down last night. He saw the #2 and quickly hid under the snug-tub. I ran to hand Sommer off to Eric but by the time I got back he had lost some of his cookies in the bath water. In the meantime, Laine had gotten her panties off and was trying to get the mess into the toilet by swishing her them around in the water and then she accidentally dropped them into the bowl. I told Ridge to get out of the tub and he warned me to close the toilet. I told him that no #2 was visible, just Laine's panties floating in the water, but he got out, looked in the toilet and promptly vomited all over the bath rug. I told him to get it in the toilet before I remember that Laine's panties were in there which meant that when this moment was finally done I had to fish the undies out of really dirty toilet water. Laine was standing in the corner between the tub and the toilet getting upset about the vomit all around her feet. I wiped Ridge's mouth and legs and sent him out the door. Yuck, what a mess. And there's a little bit of my Sunday night.

Oh my flippin GOSH!! What a nightmare!! You are so talented telling us about it tho that it was more entertaining than gross to read :) You are certainly a trooper..I might have left the room in a weepy mess at that point and hid in a fetal position in the corner...

You are so patient, Paige. I'd be flushing the panties down the toilet at that point!

Paige, you deserve a spa weekend more than anyone I know. I guess there is some small comfort in knowing that someday you will laugh about this!

while you have shilo out on a walk i thought i would check blogs, and you have me cracking up!
tears running down my face!
can't breath!
i'm sorry- but that is just too funny!
i can just see it happening and the two of them being grossed out by eachother!
i hope you wore gloves to fish out the undies, and then i hope you got a nice long, hot shower to relax. and some time to laugh about this!
luv ya

Ditto to all the comments - you are a great storyteller, even if it's not a great story for you. What a disaster! Nights like that make us wonder why we do this to ourselves, but then the smiling faces and hugs and kisses are always worth it. You are a supermom - I don't know how you keep it all together and keep going - with a sense of humor to boot!

You are a great storyteller Paige...this made me laugh at the yucky, tiring, someday we will find funny things that happen in day to day family life. I don't know how you do it and keep your cool. I need whatever pills you are taking. I can't keep my cool half the time. ;)

And just tonight, E said something about, "I can't do that, Mom, it's too gross," and I said, "You can't tell me ANYTHING about gross!"

I have to admit, though, that story pretty much beats out mine!

Make sure you bring it up when they bring their significant others home, ok?

I thought you were a different Paige and I am so glad figured it out because this was a great story! Hope it is okay if I link it to your name on my give away. I still haven't figured out who we know in common but I am glad you commented on my blog. The give away is just an hour away. Cross your fingers!
