I'm dreaming of a...

subtitled: pity party

Nothing makes me more homesick than snow at Christmas time. That whole introduction to "White Christmas" about the sun shining and green grass is still how Christmas feels to me. The kids and Eric would love to see snow for Christmas but I feel the complete opposite. It started snowing on the way to church I started to cry because I was feeling sorry for myself because I've been sick

(woke up with no voice, had a cold last week, thought it was gone and it came back and turned very wicked one day this week, and I had to do sharing time in primary but it actually went well and I probably got a lot of little kids saying prayers for me though one little girl said, "she sounds like an alien.")

and because I just wanted to be home where I grew up, in Claremont, California.

We really did have lovely, balmy Christmas days very often. Right now I'm remembering the year we all got roller blades, I guess we didn't all get them was it 4 of 6 got them or 2 of 6? Anyway, we got enough hockey sticks to go around and we played street hockey in the cul-de-sac on Christmas day, I wore jeans and short sleeves.

I heard it is supposed to snow again this weekend.

You guys have to get out of Seattle...I'm telling you, the desert isn't so bad! I love a warm Christmas too. It also sounds like we had our holiday breakdowns at the same time. I'll have to call you next time and we can cry together!

snow? in seattle? but its always sunny in seattle. at least from what i have witnessed. im sorry its not sunny there. id tell you about the weather here, but i dont think it will help make you feel better. just tell eric to cash in some of his stocks and come visit california for the holidays. tell him you guys arent 'milking' it enough and you need to get out. he wont be able to turn that down.

Hi Paige! Don't let the snow get you down. Just sit down and snuggle with your Christmas cookies. That will kill the pain. :)

Don't move! just enjoy the snowy memories your kids are making, of a mom who throws snow balls at them and makes cool crafts on cold days, and add some hot chocolate to the mix and all will be o.k.
{ hey- you have to many cute jackets to move to a sunny place anyway!:)}

Sorry Paige...that you have been sick and are homesick. My Christmas wish is that its 80 degrees on Christmas morning for you.

Sorry you've been feeling down, Paige. Don't let it get the best of you--we did miss you at Troy's birthday lunch today--move closer?
But it's about 22 degrees outside with about 4 inches of snow--does that make Seattle look any better?
Love you!

I know! I read your blog after I posted mine and I felt terrible. After living in England for 6 years, I think I feel your pain. Even New Jersey got me down. I swear us native Californians were just born to be in the sun! I totally think you deserve to throw a pity party. I would...
