Crafts

I was trying to prepare for a no school day by having some crafts for my kids. (We didn't have school because it was a teacher work day. I need this explained, why do we have so many of them? The last one was less than a month ago.) I bought them each 3 ornaments to paint and decorate. I loved doing crafts as a kid, we even did a craft class once at Craft Cottage. Was it just Matt and I with the Munson kids or was Lark there too? Anyway, I thought it would take more time than it did. I was picturing a quiet morning together, busy at the art table. It lasted about 30 minutes, not including set up. So I guess that is still a while but the idea of it lasted longer in my head. The kids liked the glitter and glitter glue much more than the paints. Ridge did a good job of covering every inch of one his ornaments, it took forever to dry. Cannon hard at work sprinkling blue glitter over every inch of one of his ornaments.
Luckily I had the sense to cover the table though we are still finding bits of glitter on our skin at random times of the day. I was planning on painting Sommer's for her but she woke up and I didn't get that chance. I left the materials out for a while but never got back to the crafts. Of course, they watched too much tv throughout the rest of the day. This was the day of the pouring rain so I didn't even try to venture outside. I sent Cannon and Laine out with their boots and umbrellas but that also didn't last very long. Oh well. Good try, right?

Your an amazing mom! Look at all the fun those children had. Those are great memories that they will remember. Do you want to come and do art for 12 children? Just kidding.

Crafts are the best--I love that you covered your table--that's thinking! And Laine's hair is so long! I haven't seen her picture in a while I guess. They all look so big.
